Plumbline is a church planter assessment run by Parker Manuel. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, who sees it, and how long we keep it.
What we collect
When a network leader sets up an assessment, we store the names, emails and city they enter. When you answer, we store your answers. Some answers are sensitive: your marriage, your health and stress, your beliefs, and a few private safety questions for planting wives. If you choose to, you can also tell us about the city you plan to plant in and share results from other assessments you've taken, including files you upload. Uploaded files are private: only your network's team can open them, through links that expire after 10 minutes. Network leaders sign in with their email, and we store their name, email and network. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
Who sees your answers
Your network's team (the network leaders and assessors who invited you) sees your answers and the reports built from them. Your husband or wife never sees your individual answers, your private note or your safety answers. After your network leader releases them, the planting husband and wife each see their own report, which includes only summaries of the other's answers. References see only their own form. On Plumbline Teams (plumblineteams.com), your team leader chooses one of two ways when they start the team, and you're told which before you begin. Either your leader sees your full growth report and your answers, or your report is private to you and your leader sees it only if you choose to share it (you can stop sharing at any time). Either way, your answers about how the team works together are only ever shown as the team's average once at least 3 people finish, teammates who rate you are shown only as an average, and your private note is never shared. Other networks never see anything of yours. Parker Manuel, who runs Plumbline, can see platform-wide counts (how many networks and assessments there are) and each network's name with its owner's name and email, so he can check in with network leaders. He never sees your answers, except to fix a problem you or your network asks him to fix.
Payments
When a network leader buys assessments, Stripe handles the payment. We never see or store card numbers. We keep a record of each purchase: the network, the amount, any discount code and the buyer's email.
Emails
Invites, reminders and "finished" notes are sent from plumbline@parkermanuel.com through Resend, an email delivery service. We only email people a network leader invited, about their assessment.
How we keep it safe
If you ask the report coach a question, your question and a summary of that report (scores, wiring, gifts and similar results) go to Anthropic, which makes the Claude AI, so it can write an answer. Private notes, the planting wife's safety answers and anything references wrote are never sent. Anthropic doesn't use what it receives this way to train its models. Plumbline doesn't save your questions or the coach's answers; we only count how many questions each report link asks per day, to keep the coach fair for everyone.
Everything is sent over encrypted connections and stored with Supabase, a database provider in the United States. Apple delivers the iPhone app. The database enforces who can see what, row by row. Your personal link works like a key, so please don't share it.
How long we keep it
Each network chooses 12, 24 or 36 months, and assessments are deleted automatically after that. Network owners and admins can delete an assessment at any time, and deleting it removes every answer in it. Network leaders can delete their own account in Settings, which permanently removes their sign-in, name and email.
What we never do
We never sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it outside your network. We may use counts with every name removed (for example, how many people finish) to improve Plumbline.
Your choices
You can stop at any time, and you can skip anything you aren't comfortable answering by telling your network leader. To see, correct or delete your answers, ask your network leader, or write to hello@parkermanuel.com.
Adults only
Plumbline is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has answered, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and let network leaders know.
Not a clinical test
Plumbline is a readiness conversation tool. It isn't a psychological test, a medical or mental-health diagnosis, or marriage counseling. If anything you answered raises concerns about your health or safety, please talk with a licensed professional. In the US you can call or text 988 any time, or call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.
